Industry meeting with foresight – The Swiss Travel Management Forum 2025 At the Swiss Travel Management Forum (STMF) on February 27, 2025, more than 150 industry experts, providers, and decision-makers from the travel industry gathered at the Dolder Grand Hotel in Zurich to discuss the future of business travel. TravelBrain was also involved in organizing the event and was onsite – with Adrian Matt moderating various keynotes and panels. Travel Manager lunch at the start of the event The “Travel Manager only” lunch before the official start of the STMF has become a tradition. This year, the acting president

The business trip in transition – challenges and opportunities The Finass Business Travel Workshop 2024 has successfully concluded, and as usual, TravelBrain would like to give you a review of this high-profile event. Under the motto “The business trip in transition – challenges and opportunities,” the workshop offered exciting insights and valuable networking opportunities at the SIX Convention Point in Zurich. For the 17th time, Daniel Wittwer and Marc Brunner, along with the Finass Business Travel team, invited participants to the Finass Business Travel Workshop. This year too, around 80 travel managers from small and large companies and partners

With virtual panel discussion on “The Future is now – Hotels post Covid-19” At long last I could finally meet again with industry colleagues and travel managers. Live and in colour at the brand new cititzenM hotel in Geneva where the ASTM had initiated a fully Covid19 compatible hybrid event to commemorate the opening of this new property. Sabah Kahoul and Dominic Short from the ASTM had made it their target to bring business travel management people together for a physical meeting after all these weeks of lockdown. Regardless of the pandemic the citizenM Hotel in Geneva the chain’s

As usual, lots of business travel events will take place in autumn. Hardly a week without a customer event of a TMC or a regional or even international major event. That makes the decision where we should be present with our teams very difficult. With the ACTE Global Summit 2019 in Amsterdam, one of the most important events of the season is just around the corner. Unfortunately, we will probably not be present at this year’s ACTE Global Summit 2019 from 23 – 25 October 2019 at the Postillion Hotel & Convention Centre in Amsterdam. And this despite the

This years Business Travel Show / Travel Technology Europe and the ITB 2019 are history. At travelBrain we now have started to focus on the planning for some the local Swiss events scheduled for the rest of the year. One of them is the ACTE Education Forum to be held for the first time in Basel at the SET Residence by Teufelhof on 27 June 2019. The prep work for the 2019 event is in full swing. The organising committee led by Stephanie Smook together with the Advisory board is currently finalising the agenda for Basel. The ACTE motto

It took a while for the agenda to be published for this years ACTE Education Event on 7th June at the Holiday Inn Messe in Zurich. With “Broaden the perspective to achieve more” this years focus is on new approaches for known challenges. In cooperation with STM (Swiss Travel Management) an attractive set of sessions has been designed. I am really excited to see what ACTE will present in the three planned sessions during the event. I any case, some high profile speakers and panelists are already anounced. More will follow soon. After having moderated the afternoon’s sessions last

This last week was very busy. Once again, I was invited to help mold the content for the summit that was held in The Sheraton, Zurich. And two days prior to the STMF, we with expenseBrain and my colleague Michael Zwickl had already appeared at the Finass Business Travel Workshop in Zurich’s World Trade Center. But of course there is always the same excitement to meet so many collegues from Travel Management and Suppliers. For the second time, the occasion was moderated by Traveltip and the patronage of the VDR, by Stefan Jäggi and Willy Schnyder – and they

It has now been a few days ago since we took part in the ACTE Education Forum at the Park Hyatt Zürich on May 11th 2017. ACTE invited folks to an open discussion on digitization in the Travel Industry and its effect on Travel Management under the banner question “Are you digital?”. An exciting forum with a good mix of travel managers and Travel Industry suppliers and an event that involved more preparation time in advance than usual. Things don’t always turn out as expected…. ACTE, like other event organizers, has changed how these events are structured and kicked

Plans are apparently there to change. When I registered for this years ACTE Education Forum in Zurich on 11 May 2017 held in the Parky Hyatt Zurich I was expecting a relaxing afternoon with interesting topics and great discussons. The sessions announced on Digital Transformation and Hotel Sourcing were very promising. Only that my idea of having a quiet day later this week have changed dramatically. Which means that I will now be moderating two panel disucssions on the above subjects. ACTE Education Forum – “Are you Digital” As seen in other such events on Corporate Travel, the
