HRG lays off the complete management \u2013 with one exception &#8211; in Switzerland.<\/p>\n<p>This includes Beat B\u00fcrer Head Switzerland &amp; HRG Europe Central, Andreas Stehrenberger Head Sales &amp; Account Management, Pierre-Yves Lecu\u00e9 Head Finance,\u00a0Purchasing Lead Bernard Eggen as well the IT Heads Nic Pedersen and Stefan Huber. It looks like Sales, Marketing and Legal are impacted too. While Beat B\u00fcrer\u00a0and Bernie Eggen possibly will enjoy an early retirement, the other impacted Managers will certainly look for new job opportunities. It will be interesting to see\u00a0where those people will show up next.<\/p>\n<h3>Ralf D\u00f6rig\u00a0takes over<\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-15119 size-thumbnail alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/development.travelbrain.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Ralf-D\u00f6rig-140x140.jpg\" alt=\"Ralf D\u00f6rig\" width=\"140\" height=\"140\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The only one surviving the cut is Ralf D\u00f6rig who will remain at HRG and will officially lead HRG Switzerland as a Director as of 1st January 2015. His main duties will certainly include to keep a forceful team together and to build\u00a0a close relationship and collaboration with his new bosses in the UK. This is a challenge and we wish him all the best.<\/p>\n<h3>Is this about cost cutting or maybe more?<\/h3>\n<p>Also in other European markets changes can be expected. We have no confirmed declarations but hear through the grapevine that about 130 jobs are impacted. Is\u00a0this a Europe wide cost cutting exercise? Or is HRG trying to make itself attractive for a takeover?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>David Radcliffe, CEO Hogg Robinson has <a title=\"HRG Shares\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lse.co.uk\/DirectorsDeals.asp?shareprice=HRG&amp;share=hogg_rob\" target=\"_blank\">bought a small package of\u00a0shares<\/a> this week and therefore the second option is definitely a possible one. For quite some time people speculate about a consolidation in the TMC world. Now,\u00a0after the AMEX Joint Venture and the SAP-Concur Deal, are we looking at a next spectacular takeover?
